It is an extraordinary endeavor of the Olympic committee of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to take Olympic torch at the summit of Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest, Qomolangma), the highest point in the earth, to make the XXIV Olympic a distinct and most remarkable in the history of Olympic Games. At the successful ascent of the summit with the Olympic Torch a chapter on Olympic spirit is written in bold letters. At this moment, I share my joy and happiness with the fellow Chinese citizens, admire the immense courage, determination and exemplary adventure exhibited by the summiteers to carry Olympic torch at the summit. I express my sincere congratulations to the organizing committee of the Olympic Games through it to the Government of the People’s Republic of China and its people.
Nepal, as a neighbour and well wisher of China, from the very beginning of the preparation for the Beijing Olympic Games, has been extending its support and expressing good wishes for the success of the Games. Nepal, in its part, made all out support and arrangement for the success of carrying Olympic Torch at the summit of Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest, Qomolangma). In Olympic history, this is the first time that Olympic torch has reached at the pinnacle. This is a great success of the Olympic Games itself and success of the Chinese people that stands for the love and sentiments of the Chinese people to the sports.
